Three Months Old

Yesterday, Elizabeth turned three months old! Here's what she looked like:

Aaaaand another, because she's just so cute:

It was also her first day in daycare. She reportedly did very well for it being her first day, and today she actually spent most of her time napping.

Some fun new facts about our little baby:
  • She can roll over from her belly to her side easily, and sometimes she rolls all the way over to her back.
  • She has started grabbing for things, and her favorite things to grab: our glasses. If we aren't careful, she'll snatch them right off our faces.
  • She loves to kick her feet when she's taking a bath (which is adorable) and when we're changing her diaper (which makes that task very difficult to accomplish, but is still adorable).
  • Every now and then, we can make her laugh.
Life is pretty good.

Busy!

Things have been pretty busy around the Baker household of late.

Work was so busy, especially for the first two weeks of classes. We experienced an earthquake and a hurricane all in the space of a week! The hurricane shut down classes for two days, and forced the university to push back the deadlines for things like Add/Drop and schedule changes (which meant my hell week lasted longer than it usually would have).  But it's finally starting to calm down, and there are some very positive things happening.  I've been offered a job that was vacated by a colleague, and it is a promotion complete with a pay raise.  The extra pay will definitely help with the daycare expenses that we'll soon incur.

Speaking of daycare, Elizabeth will start attending one very close to both our home and work on September 26th. My mother-in-law has been absolutely amazing the whole time she's been here, and we're going to miss her terribly. She's been spoiling all of us rotten by cooking dinner and helping with laundry and the dishes. It will be quite an adjustment to do all of these things without her around, and I can't thank her enough for her help during a time when we really needed it the most.

Tomorrow, Elizabeth will be 11-weeks old. The week after that, she'll be 3 months! Where does the time go? She's growing before our very eyes:

Grinning at Mommy

 Snoozing on Daddy's lap

Posing with Daddy in her "My Grandma is a Living Legend" onesie today (09-10-2011). Which grandma is a living legend, you might wonder? I submit that both are living legends.

As you can see, Elizabeth has changed quite a bit from the tiny string bean we brought home. She's more adorable than ever, and we believe ourselves to be the luckiest parents ever.
