Seven Months Old!

Guess who turned seven months old yesterday? This gal:

Sitting up so prettily, tongue out as usual.

Grinning for Mommy with chubby cheeks!

Some facts about the big girl:
  • She can barely crawl and she's already getting into everything.
  • She is actually close to being able to pull herself up--she tries to do this on our coffee table all the time, and reportedly at daycare as well.
  • One of her favorite things is to hit something with another thing that she's holding.
  • She loves to play with her little squirting ducks in the bathtub, though they usually end up in her mouth.
I am attempting a 365-day photo challenge, and Elizabeth is my model! Usually, I take photos of her all day and the next day I pick the one I judge to be the best or the most interesting/funny to post on a Tumblr site. So, if you would like to see what I've managed to do thus far, you can view it on 365 Days of Baby Elizabeth

Baby Yoga

Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I would like to welcome you to my new fitness show, Elizabeth's Baby Yoga.

I apologize for the state of my exercise space--the servants around here are rather lazy.  They claim that all these toys scattered about are for my benefit, but I think they are just trying to excuse their horrendous lack of housekeeping skills.

So here's the yoga pose called "downward dog".  As you can see, I like to flip through a book while I perform this move, because I am a multi-tasker.

Did you get that? No? Well too bad, I've got things to do. Tune in for more fun stuff on the all-Elizabeth channel later!

Mother's Note: This is what Elizabeth does instead of crawling--she gets up on her hands and feet, then sits back down, over and over again. We think she's pretty amazing!

Elizabeth's Baby Food Review: Episode 8

Welcome to the eighth episode of Elizabeth's Baby Food Review! I'm so excited to be trying something new.

Can you believe it has been almost three weeks since the last episode? I haven't tried any new solid foods in three weeks! The servants kept murmuring something about being too busy.  Like it's so much trouble to chauffeur me across the country for my holiday family tour? From what little I could see on the trip (they made me sit in the worst seat in the vehicle), they just sat there the whole time!

*Ahem* Anyway, getting back on track here, my manservant just brought over the bowl, and he says I'm having something called "sweet potatoes". Note that I'm not freaking out even though it is the same color as that nasty stuff called "carrots".

Whoa! This first bite was...was...

....simply delightful! That is the tastiest thing I have ever had!

Mmm, mmm, mmm! I think I could eat this stuff all day. Wow. Now I know why you people eat so much of this solid food.

What do you mean it's about time? I think you mean to say that you are pleased I like the dish and that you live to serve, peasant!

Uh oh...I've just been informed that this is the last bite of sweet potatoes for tonight. That's the saddest thing I've ever heard.  Are you absolutely certain?

Here, let me see that bowl.  I'd better check, because the manservant isn't always the most careful about such things...

*Sigh* No, he was actually right, this time. Well, that's it for the sweet potatoes, and for this episode of Elizabeth's Baby Food Review.  I'm not sure what I'll have next time, but I hope you'll join me again.

Mother's Note: She adored the sweet potatoes! We think she likes it the best so far!

Six Months Old!

Elizabeth turned six months old while we were away for the holiday, hence the lateness of this post. I am ashamed to admit that we do not have a picture taken on the exact day she turned six months, but we do have pictures around that time.  Here are some from the night of the 29th of December:

 Staring at the camera

 Grinning at Daddy

She's getting so big! Here are a few new facts about the lovely girl:
  •  She's able to get up on her hands and knees now--not long until she's able to crawl!
  • She can sit up on her own quite well, once she's propped.
  • She has discovered her tongue and often sticks it out or sits with it sticking out. She's a very silly girl.
  • She can roll over from both positions.
  • She likes to hit toys with other toys (example: she was sitting in her crib and couldn't reach her mobile, so she picked up a toy and used it to hit the lowest-hanging items).
  • She likes to snuggle (it's the easiest way to get her to nap).
Elizabeth has her 6-month check-up on the 12th, so I'll probably have more to post soon!
