Elizabeth's Baby Food Review: Episode 6

Welcome to the sixth episode of Elizabeth's Baby Food Review.  I'm Elizabeth, and tonight I'll be reviewing a dish called squash.  I was hoping for another round of green beans, but I guess I'll have to settle for trying something new.

Ah, here it is now. Hm. I can't say that it looks that impressive. In fact...

I think you're trying to give me carrots! Why would you do such a thing?

Viewers, I implore you to write letters protesting this treatment of the star of Elizabeth's Baby Food Review! Why, it's unjust, it's unfair, it's not--

Squash is similar in color to carrots? What do you mean, this kind of squash? There are lots of varieties of squash? Huh. Well I can't be expected to know that. I'm just a baby. Geez. Some rather unrealistic expectations of a baby if you ask me....  OK manservant, let's do this.

Hmm. Intriguing taste. Not nearly so offensive as carrots. What? I have something on my lip?

Mmmm! This is actually good! I think I like this squash stuff.

It's about time this establishment started making food that it doesn't take more than one bite to like. How hard can it be to please a baby?

Especially an exceptional baby such as myself. It's not like I'm asking for lobster or something complicated like a souffle. Whatever that is.

I don't ask for much--after all, I've only been waking up three times in the night to be fed. That's not much. But the way the staff here act, you'd think I was demanding something unreasonable! And let me tell you, they could really stand to step up the pace on those nighttime feedings!

What do you mean the staff needs sleep too? Where did you hear a silly thing like that? They're here to serve me, right? You mean their eyes aren't supposed to be sunken in like that? I think you're making stuff up. I'm not listening to your lies anymore.  That's it for this episode of Elizabeth's Baby Food Review. Next week tune in to see what I think of sweet potatoes!

Mother's Note: She really is waking up 2 or 3 times in the night to eat. She's been ravenous, and she's getting pretty heavy!  Elizabeth is definitely moving around more--today, she was lying on Michael's legs and she pushed herself up on her arms and took a dive to the side of his lap--he caught her just in time! She also grabs tissues from the Kleenex box and tries to eat them, the little weirdo.  Another one of her favorite things to do is to squeal and scream.  It's like she just discovered she can do it, so she's doing it all the time.

  1. Just letting you know - I've read all your posts - I love how much she is growing and experiencing and her faces are hilarious!

And oh my goodness - her and Santa! LOL

  2. Kiri, she is growing so quickly it is hard to believe! I can't believe she will be six months old on the 26th. Her faces are very entertaining, and they are very cute to wake up to. :)

Yes, the dreaded Santa incident was pretty funny. I was the same way as a baby with Santa (though I seemed just fine with the Easter bunny, for some reason...). Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
