To be fair, her father and I were extremely ill that day, plagued by one of those horrific 24-hour stomach flu bugs. By the time we remembered that I needed to do a blog post, we were drowsy and miserable. We allowed Elizabeth to watch an episode of Sesame Street on Michael's laptop while we lethargically kept her from vaulting over the side of the bed by blocking her path with our bodies. Michael snapped a picture of her on his laptop while trying to entertain her, and I was grateful because it was the only picture we took of her that day:
I'm not sure we'll ever forget that particular birthday. In any case, here are some facts about our darling girl:
- She is able to stand on her own. Seriously.
- She loves to hit us in the face, sometimes with toys.
- She is starting to cry when we leave the room or leave her at daycare--it's heartbreaking, but it makes us feel loved and missed.
- She can crawl really fast, and likes to follow us from room to room.
