Elizabeth was kind enough to model on our new sofa, though as you can see, she mostly just peers at the camera like "what is on your face? Can't you tell that there's something blocking your face?"
So how is our little Elizabeth doing? Well, she's not so very little: at 25 inches long, she's in the 95th percentile for height. At a whopping 14.4 lbs, she's in the 50-60th percentile for weight. She had to get some shots, but she took them pretty well for a baby. Her doctor says she is very healthy and we've been given the green light to begin introducing solids! We're very excited about this. We'll be starting with rice cereal, administered by spoon. I'm sure we'll be putting video up of the carnage.
Some new things we've learned about our little girl:
- She grabs her feet all the time now, especially when she's on her back (note the missing sock in the picture above--she pulled it off)
- She is starting to lift her head up when she's on her back, as if she's trying to sit up
- She's starting to laugh more, especially when we tickle her neck and belly
- She's so grabby! Tonight I had a remote control in my hand and she kept reaching for it.
She's so adorable! Sofia is JUST now starting to grab her feet -- and she's a month older than Elizabeth! One trick I have for taking pictures of Sofia (because she would never smile when I had the camera in front of her face) -- aim and focus the camera, them pop up from behind the camera and smile or coo or whatever to get her to smile at you...then click! (Although, this technique sometimes gets me slightly blurry pictures!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tina! Sofia is adorable, too, and you get the best pictures of her! We've tried the "lookit me" method for picture-taking, but we have to basically hide the camera away completely if she notices it. She gets fixated on it and just has this horrified look on her face. :)
